We Only Have Each Other

 

Our next/ "Best Buddies" pairing is from Dizzy Blonde Studios. Both colorways are dyed on 80/20 SW Merino/Silk; 4 oz/115 g - 434 yds/397 m of sumptuous luxury.  From the artist:

"Let it Go" is Elsa's initial break-out moment of discovery which starts her down the path of self-acceptance, and the moment we drew inspiration from for our first colorway.  We really wanted to capture the essence of the moment while at the same time, create a colorway to compliment Beach Bunny Yarn's corresponding Elsa colorway "Conceal Don't Feel." "Alone andFree" is a subtly-shifting tonal semi-solid blend of icy blues of Kingdom of Isolation, where she finally feels safe to be herself. 

 

Anna, on the other hand, is set upon the same journey she has been on since childhood: constantly seeking out and trying to connect with her big sister, not only for herself but for the people of Arendelle, meeting allies along the way who aid her in her Hero's Quest.  For "Fixer Upper" we drew inspiration for our second colorway from Anna's winter cloak.  This tonally-shifting semi solid blend of warm orchid contrasts beautifully with Beach Bunny's "Not THAT Princess". 

 

Both colorways represent the transitional dichotomy of both sisters; pivotal moments that inevitably bring both sisters closer and strengthens their bond beyond measure.  ~~Laura

Best Buddies

 

Disney's Frozen is a beautifully told story of two sisters and their incredible journey.  After being estranged for most of their childhood, they come together again for Elsa's coronation, and though awkward and strained, they find they still have things in common...like chocolate!

We are doing things a little differently this year.  Each of our talented dyers have created 2 colorways, drawing inspiration from "Frozen's" best buddies: Anna and Elsa. All 4 colorways are dyed on 80/20 SW Merino/Silk, 4 oz/115 gm-434 yds/397 m of soft, lustrous lightweight luxury...fit for a queen (and a princess).  

Our first colorway pairing in this year's collection is from Beach Bunny Yarns in Ormond Beach, FL, and it is gorgeous!  From the artist:

"Beach Bunny Yarns loved the costumes for Elsa's coronation day.  We used this moment for our colorway inspirations.  Starting with Elsa, exuding dignity and self-control, we began with panels of deep teal and aqua accented with dark plum, just like the embroidery of royal patterns on her skirt.  Then touched with a bit of dark magenta drawn from the cape she wears.

"Conceal, Don't Feel" showcases Elsa's poise, combined with royal elegance with textural warmth fit for the Snow Queen herself! 

We look next to Anna  and her "cor-ner-ation" day dress:   the layers of dark/light greens total compliments to her strawberry-blonde hair.  "Not THAT Princess"  features vibrant greens that hint at her spirited nature.  You can almost feel her open-hearted optimism and rustic charm. 

On coronation day, the sisters visually represent balance - Elsa's poised, cool elegance contrasted with Anna's lively, warm energy.  Standing side by side, the two halves of a whole: winter and spring; ice and sunlight; restraint and exuberance, both beautiful in their own way."  ~~ Ron and Alicia
